Deck The Halls! with Canadian Tire
Well I’ve made no secret in hiding my excitement for the holidays this year and, truthfully, most of that excitement has come from how happy my holiday décor is making me at home! The holidays can be a hectic time so I want my home to feel like a comfy, cozy winter wonderland and thanks to Canada’s Christmas Store, Canadian Tire, it’s feeling just like that! This one-stop retailer has everything you need for the holiday season – from entertaining essentials, to this year’s must-have toys, to décor.
I mentioned before that my inspiration for my holiday decor this year was to keep things fairly monochromatic using a palette of metallics and neutrals and I am LOVING it! My friends at Canadian Tire hooked this girl up with some fabulous new holiday decor from their CANVAS Silver collection, so today I thought I’d share a closer look at a few of the new pieces that are making my home sparkle!
First up, let’s talk about my new tree. This year I picked out this new NOMA Pre-Lit Hudson Spruce Tree and I am obsessed. It looks more real than my old tree and took less than five minutes to set up. Let’s be honest - the tree is the foundation for your décor, so you want to make it a good one! I also can’t get enough of our CANVAS Cable Knit Fur Stockings – they’re such a great wall accent.
Once you have your tree set up it’s time to move onto the ornaments. When I decorate the tree, I like to start by spacing out my main ornaments as a base, as evenly throughout the tree as I can. These are the simpler ornaments that fill out most of the tree. This year I used this CANVAS mixed metallic set as my base then added specialty ornaments from there. I like to use a mix of different textures and variations in colour and sets like this are the perfect way to achieve that layered look!
With your base ornaments in place, it’s now time to add the specialty ornaments to add the WOW factor to your tree! I loved the silver collection of ornaments from Canadian Tire’s CANVAS line - especially the Glass Beaded Tassel and Owl ornaments - they all paired together so beautifully! Lastly, I couldn’t talk about my twinkling, sparkly holiday decor without mentioning my new glittery friends (haha!) these adorable sequin deer from Canadian Tire. I have them in the corner with my pre-lit LED birch branches and that whole area sparkles!
