Perfect Pout
I've come a long way in the past two years when it comes to lip color. I've gone from a gloss only girl to a full fledged lipstick wearing and loving gal who's no longer afraid of a little colour. In my quest to expand my beauty repertoire I've also learned a few things like how to keep the colour from lasting longer and how to avoid the so-not-cute dry lip look (one word: yikes!). So today I thought I'd share my 3 tips to achieve the perfect pout
Prep
The first step to achieving a beautiful pout is to make sure you're applying colour to a smooth base. If I know I'm wearing a solid lipcolor I always start by mixing a small amount of coconut oil and sugar on my hand and rub the mixture onto my lips. Once you feel like you've exfoliated enough to get off the dry skin, wipe away. It's an easy, inexpensive and incredibly quick exfoliant that works very well. Once you're exfoliated, a base coat is next. I've been loving this Lise Watier Magnifix Lips lately, it makes a huge difference in how long my lip colour lasts.
Colour
Step two for getting the perfect pout is applying the colour itself. These Lise Watier liquid lipsticks have been in heavy rotation lately. They're rich, creamy and the colour is gorgeous and long lasting.
Set and Go!
The last tip for long lasting lip colour is to set it. A little trick I learned from my cousin is to take a tissue and place it over your lips once you've applied the colour (see here). Then take a loose powder (like a foundation or mineral powder) and lightly dust the powder onto your lips over the tissue. The tissue protects the colour but also allows enough of the powder through that the colour will be set. You'll be amazed how well this tip works for long lasting colour that doesn't fade.
