Best in Beauty - Diana's Summer Faves
Oh summer, tis the season for bronzed skin, long days, hot nights and all sorts of melt-y make-up potential woes (yikes)! Looking to tame your tresses, master the art of the dewy skin look and find the perfect polish to compliment your rockin' tan? Look no further. These are my summer beauty faves- are any of these yours?
1. Sephora #46 Pro Flawless Bronzer Blush
I have long been a fan of the kabuki brush, but after a recent trip to Sephora and the suggestion that I try this brush, I am so happy I did. With a bit more control over my usage and a more even application, I have said farewell to the kabuki and fully embraced this sleek guy. Hellooo summer, bring on the bronzer!
Julep, a polish brand I first encountered when ordering my free trial monthly maven box, has quickly become one of my favourite polish brands. This Harriet color is the perfect summer color compliment to a bit of a tan and has been my favorite polish from Julep yet! The coral with just a slight pink is right up my alley and has become my go-to for the season.
While I love long summer days for the warmth and sunshine that I dearly miss in the winter months, I do not love the makeup melting off of my face halfway through the day. Determined to find a solution for this problem, I ordered the ELF makeup mist and set spray and so far I am so happy with the results. I give my face a spritz after finishing my makeup and throw it in my purse for a mid day application if need be and one week in, my makeup seems to be staying stronger. Not to mention it's made with aloe, cucumber, green tea and vitamins a, c and e so it's seriously refreshing and gives your skin that desirable dewy look.
4. Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax Slim
When you've got lots of thick long hair like myself, most people call that a blessing. Most days I love my long hair but it does provide its challenges. Frizzy, static-y outta control tresses are so not my jam but I also don't like to weigh my hair down with heavy products (gross). Enter this product. I use a small (think dime size) bit of the product and work it into the ends and mid section of my hair after I shower then blow dry as normal. It tames my frizz, amps the shine and cuts down my need to blast a straightener through it before I head out the door.
6. Maybelline Great Lash Blackest Black
If there is one beauty product I am pickiest about, it is definitely my mascara. One of my biggest pet peeves is mascara that clumps your lashes together and creates those scary spiky spider lashes. Nine times out of ten my eye makeup is black liquid liner and lots of mascara. I keep it simple but I go for impact so I want my lashes long and full but definitely not clumpy. No matter how many mascaras I try, I always end up coming back to the same mascara I used when I was 15. Maybe sometimes you just don't need to mess with what works.
