The Prettiest Pink Hot Chocolate

Well here we are in February - the month of Valentine’s day so naturally, the month of all things pretty and pink and heart filled! I couldn’t let this month go by without sharing the prettiest, sweetest, cozy up and cuddle kind of drink that’s perfect for our cold winters….pink hot chocolate!!

I’ve been wanting to make my own pink hot chocolate for a long time but didn’t want to make the powdered store bought stuff. Thankfully a friend of mine who’s way more domestic than I am passed along this recipe she uses for me to share with you today!

Pink Hot Chocolate Recipe

*serves 3-4

Here’s what you need:

4 cups milk (I used 2% because clearly calories are not a concern with this drink haha but you use whatever your preference is - whole milk, skim milk, etc)

1-1.5 cups of white chocolate chips (I use 1 cup but the recipe called for 1.5 - I’d start with 1 then do a taste test to see if you want to add more because white chocolate is very sweet!!)

2 tsp vanilla extract

Red food coloring

Here’s what you do:

Pour the milk and chocolate chips into a saucepan on the stove and slowly heat over low until the chocolate melts and starts to combine. Stir continuously.

Once the chocolate chips have melted, stir in the vanilla and add 1/2 tsp of red food coloring. Stir until mixed then add more food coloring if you want until you get the color you like!

Pour and enjoy! You can top with whipped cream if you like but this was indulgent enough for my tastes as is!

How simple is that? Have you ever made pink hot chocolate before? It’s definitely a treat but so pretty and so tasty!
