Holiday Traditions With The Brick

Today I want to talk about holiday traditions. Christmas is my favourite time of year but if I'm being honest, it has nothing to do with the gifts but rather, the traditions I have with my friends and family around my favourite time of year.

One of my favourite traditions is actually a meal that my family serves every year on Christmas. It's one that I grew up enjoying every year when either my mom or my aunt made it and now it's one that I make every Christmas for my family. I actually shared the recipe this year in The Brick's Holiday Look Book but in case you didn't get a chance to check that out yet I thought I'd talk about it here today for you too!

What's great about this recipe is that it's made ahead of time the night before, meaning all you need to do on Christmas morning is add the butter and corn flakes (the best part if you ask me! haha) and bake! It's a delicious holiday treat that has become my favourite part of the day. Growing up we always served ours with orange juice but now my go to is to serve with a mimosa and start the day off right! haha ;) Check out the recipe and how to on The Brick's holiday page Here (scroll down a little bit)!

A few of my favourite other holiday traditions include

- Visiting Candy Cane Lane here in Edmonton with friends

-Ice skating at Hawrelak Park

-Watching my favourite holiday movies

- Spending Christmas Eve at my mom's watching Christmas movies and staying cozy!

-Making our family toffee recipe with my dad (more to come on that soon!)

-Opening one present on Christmas Eve

-Holiday photos with Herman (he may not love it but I sure do! haha See one of my favourites this year below!)

And last year James and I started another tradition of donating to our favourite charity instead of exchanging gifts with one another.
