The Ultimate Crudité Platter
When it comes to easy entertaining in the past I've always been all about the charcuterie board. I've shared how to put together the ultimate charcuterie board, I've shared a great charcuterie board to pair with rosé wine and I've even shared how to create a dessert charcuterie board (this one's totally my fave!) but lately, as I've been trying to eat healthier I've found myself looking for an alternate to my usual go-to. Enter the crudité board (AKA basically a fancy grown up veggie tray).
I love to get together with the girls for wine and snacks but as I'm trying to maintain my weight loss and continue to live a healthy life, I've found that placing a board of meats and cheeses in front of me doesn't lead to healthy choices. I'm the type of person who's going to eat whatever is in front of me whether that's cheese and crackers or vegetables so, it may as well be vegetables! I've actually thrown together a version of this board already 5 or 6 times this summer when I've had friends over and it's always been a hit!
For this particular crudité board I have lots of yummy fresh vegetables (radishes, mushrooms, peppers, zucchini, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and carrots), a few cherries, mixed nuts, crackers and tzaziki and hummus. This is a much healthier alternative to a charcuterie board and it's a great way to make entertaining fast and easy (just wash and chop your veggies and place them on a large board), and super affordable - all of these fresh vegetables, fruit, dips, nuts and crackers cost me less than $35.
As I continue to try to make healthier choices I think that the crudité is going to continue to be my go-to for simple entertaining. What's great about this board is you can use whatever you like! There are no rules - select your favourite in season produce, throw in a few berries or nuts for something sweet and salty, use hummus or dip and you're set!
