Ready for Fall

Well hello friends, I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve written a bit of a more personal post….

September was a total whirlwind and I kind of can’t believe that it’s officially October. After a busy summer, September was a doozy. In my never ending pursuit of the oh so elusive ‘work/life balance’ I was pretty happy with how this summer went. I’ve been working hard to keep up my goals for the year including continuing to live a healthier, more active lifestyle, taking time off and focussing more on the importance of self care. Which is mainly why things have been a bit quiet this past month.

The summer was a great mix of so much going well work wise and also a lot of little trips for a few much needed breaks but the combination of playing ‘catch up’ from my little breaks as well as the beginning of my busy season with both the blog and Kresswell Interiors meant I needed to press pause on the blog and posting on Instagram as often for a minute to focus on taking care of myself.

As I’ve mentioned before I have a bad habit of running myself into the ground when things get busy - never stopping and putting work before my own health and well, that shit just isn’t gonna fly anymore. So while I’m a bit sad that I haven’t been blogging as much (there’s SO much I’ve wanted to share) I also realize that a bit of a step back was most definitely what the doctor ordered to keep my head above water. As much as the summer was so great, I’m so excited for fall. Not to get all basic here, but it’s definitely my favourite season! haha

When things get busy I tend to practice self care by binge-ing my favourite shows on Netflix, listening to a TON of podcasts, doing a little bit of home re-organizing and getting out for lots of walks with James plus of course spending time with my friends and family. These are the things that fill my cup! I’d love to know what do you do when you need to slow down and take some time for self care? Let me know in the comments below!

And while they have nothing to do with this post really, I wanted to share these photos that Tracey snapped when we drove to Drumheller last month. We had a great day getting some stunning photos (how dreamy is this location?!) plus, Tracey has become such a close friend over this past year so a girls day road trip was a perfect break too!
